CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Matt Baxter was born and raised in New York City. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania he headed to Los Angeles to attend UCLA Graduate Film School where he experimented with digital video production, and immediately got hooked.
After working as a freelance production manager, writer, and producer for Animal Planet, Clear Channel and Court TV, Matt joined CBS Interactive where he served as the interactive liaison to the UPN Network.
After CBS, Matt headed to MTV where he served as the supervising producer in the LA office of MTV News. He and his team created and published content to MTV News.com, packaged video segments for MTV Overdrive, and created video podcasts.
Right as it was taking the social content world by storm, Matt joined BuzzFeed as the Head of Branded Video. He grew the team from 10 to 50 in under one year, helped generate over $20MM in revenue, and oversaw a department which produced over 100 branded videos including the viral smash Dear Kitten and Puppyhood franchises.
In 2015 Matt joined Spotify as the Global Head of Original Content at Spotify where he shepherded Spotify's foray into original content developing and producing a slate of nearly two dozen audio and video originals including Drawn & Recorded, Landmark, The Cook-Up with Ghetto Gastro, Flash-Frame and Traffic Jams.
